AccessPrivacy has hosted several online workshops to help stakeholders understand the nature and scope of potential legal and regulatory authority instruments. In particular:
- ISED Public Engagement "Sprint" re: Canada’s Next AI Strategy (October 2025)
- The OPC's Exploratory Consultation on the Development of a Children's Privacy Code (July 2025)
- Consultation re: Ontario IPC’s Draft De-Identification Guidance (December 2024, in conjunction with the Canadian Anonymization Network)
- Consultation re: OPC’s Draft Guidance for Processing Biometrics (for Organizations) (February 2024)
- Quebec’s Draft Anonymization Regulation (January 2024, in conjunction with the Canadian Anonymization Network)
- Consultation re: ISED Code of Practice for Generative AI Systems (August 2023)
- Consultation re: CAI’s Draft Guidelines on the Validity of Consent (June 2023)
- Consultation re: OPC's position on transfers of data for processing under PIPEDA (August 2019)
Each of these moderated, interactive discussions has been recorded and sent to the relevant government body or regulatory authority as part of a formal consultation process.
Our goal with each policy consultation workshop is to provide stakeholders a forum for thoughtful, considered and constructive discussion, and to generate meaningful comments to assist in the development of the proposed instrument. We have received positive feedback from both attendees and government bodies/regulatory authorities about this model.
